Goal

Our focus lays on "find initiatives". Our goal is to to create inspirational examples of features for the digital platform EMPOWER 2.0 by exploring visualization possibilities using data from Dutch open sources and combining three different types of information: the number of initiatives in a place and its characteristics, the renewable energy production of different areas in the Netherlands and, mainly, the capacity of production of each area.

The data visualization prototypes should be designed in order to give a clear view of each region's current production and capacity of green energy. Therefore, authorities can be able to estimate future scenarios for energy transition, such as what areas have a greater capacity of production, or which initiatives are the key ones and should be further developed.

We have to assure that our solution is well aligned with the platform's visual/ information architecture and its goals.

The focus of the application is helping prosumers in their effort to make a green energy community. Project target

The feature has to support the main target group: prosumers, so it has to be also accessible and comprehensible for non-experts while still being informative enough. Stakeholders are initiatives, authorities and experts/non experts.
